<p>Antenna Products hit all the right notes at the 99th Annual Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet this past weekend, and we didn’t just show up—we showed out! Our rockstar team came dressed to impress, complete with rock ‘n roll wigs, but it was our record-breaking table that stole the show! To top it off, we were honored with the Industrial Partner of the Year award from the Mineral Wells Chamber of Commerce. We&#8217;re proud to be recognized for our contributions and excited to keep the momentum going.  We’re deeply committed to supporting and growing alongside this incredible community, and this recognition motivates us to keep giving back and driving success together. <p>Last week Antenna Products organized a special outing for all employees to watch the new Minions movie! It was a fantastic opportunity for team building, fostering unity, and celebrating the dedication of our exceptional team. The event highlighted the supportive and collaborative culture at APC and kicked off the early 4th of July Celebrations! Head of Human Resources Kathy Kindle said, <em>“The outing was just another way for us to say thank you to our wonderful employees for a great year. Their hard work and dedication don&#8217;t go unnoticed and we are always looking for new and fun ways to show our appreciation for their contributions”.</em></p>

<p>At Antenna Products, we believe in recognizing and nurturing exceptional talent. Our recent participation at Mineral Wells High School&#8217;s CTE (Career &amp; Technology Education) Signing Day was a momentous occasion that exemplified this commitment. With great excitement and pride, we celebrated the achievements of four outstanding students who participated in our apprenticeship program. What&#8217;s even more remarkable? <h4 class="wp-block-heading">Scientists just tried to see inside an asteroid with radio waves from this HAARP array</h4>

<p class="has-black-color has-text-color">Some people think HAARP was built to trigger natural disasters, but it may, in fact, help to save Earth one day.</p>



<p class="has-black-color has-text-color">cientists have used a former U.S. military research facility famous for weather control conspiracy theories to learn more about the interior of a passing asteroid.&nbsp;</p>



<p class="has-black-color has-text-color">The High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) is a range of 180 antennas located in Gakona, Alaska, capable of sending powerful high-frequency radio pulses into the sky and beyond. Built by the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy in the 1990s, the facility became an object of conspiracy theories with some claiming it&#8217;s being used to control weather or induce natural disasters including earthquakes.&nbsp;</p>



<p class="has-black-color has-text-color">In reality, scientists have been using HAARP to probe the ionosphere, the upper region of <a href="https://www.space.com/17683-earth-atmosphere.html"><u>Earth&#8217;s atmosphere</u></a> that interacts with plasma and electromagnetic radiation coming from <a href="https://www.space.com/58-the-sun-formation-facts-and-characteristics.html"><u>the sun</u></a>. In 2015, the facility was transferred from the ownership of the U.S. Air Force to the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, which has recently <a href="https://www.space.com/haarp-atmospheric-research-facility-bouncing-signals-jupiter-moon"><u>announced a range of experiments</u></a> looking beyond Earth&#8217;s gaseous blanket. </p>

<p class="has-black-color has-text-color">One of these experiments, conducted in late December, involved shooting powerful pulses of long radio waves at an&nbsp;<a href="https://www.space.com/51-asteroids-formation-discovery-and-exploration.html"><u>asteroid</u></a>&nbsp;that was passing&nbsp;<a href="https://www.space.com/54-earth-history-composition-and-atmosphere.html"><u>Earth</u></a>&nbsp;at a distance double that of the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.space.com/55-earths-moon-formation-composition-and-orbit.html"><u>moon</u></a>&nbsp;at the time. The experiment aimed to learn about the interior of the asteroid, which could one day help design an effective Earth-saving mission in case this or another space rock were to intersect our planet&#8217;s path.&nbsp;</p>



<p class="has-black-color has-text-color">&#8220;We will be analyzing the data over the next few weeks and hope to publish the results in the coming months,&#8221; Mark Haynes, lead investigator on the project and a radar systems engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California, said in a&nbsp;<a href="https://www.gi.alaska.edu/news/nasa-and-haarp-conclude-asteroid-experiment" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><u>statement</u></a>(opens in new tab). &#8220;This experiment was the first time an asteroid observation was attempted at such low frequencies.&#8221;</p>



<p class="has-black-color has-text-color">The asteroid, known as 2010 XC15, is about 500 feet wide (150 meters) and classified as potentially hazardous, which means it makes regular close approaches to Earth and could possibly one day hit the planet.&nbsp;</p>



<p class="has-black-color has-text-color">Gathering data about the distribution of matter inside the asteroid could help engineers design a more effective deflection mission if it was ever needed. NASA tested such an approach in September last year when its&nbsp;<a href="https://www.space.com/dart-asteroid-mission"><u>Double Asteroid Redirection Test</u></a>&nbsp;(DART) spacecraft successfully changed the orbit of an asteroid moonlet Dimorphos around its parent space rock&nbsp;<a href="https://www.space.com/didymos-asteroid-facts"><u>Didymos</u></a>. DART, however, smashed into Dimorphos while its ground controllers knew barely anything about the rock. If our home planet were really at risk, its defenders would want to avoid going into the unknown by gaining an understanding of any asteroids prior to launching impactors at them.&nbsp;</p>



<p class="has-black-color has-text-color">During the experiment, conducted on Dec. 27, HAARP kept firing radio waves at 2010 XC15 for 12 hours. Scientific radio antennas including those operated by amateurs all over the world listened for the returning signals to help understand the environment the signals traveled through as well as the properties of the asteroid.&nbsp;</p>



<p class="has-black-color has-text-color">&#8220;So far we have received over 300 reception reports from the amateur radio and radio astronomy communities from six continents who confirmed the HAARP transmission,&#8221; Jessica Matthews, HAARP’s program manager, said in the statement. </p>



<p class="has-black-color has-text-color">The most common methods of studying asteroids involve either optical telescopes or radio telescopes transmitting radiation with much shorter wavelengths. Neither of these techniques, however, can peer inside an asteroid, the researchers said in the statement. Optical telescopes only receive visual information from the light naturally reflected by the asteroids, while radio pulses with shorter wavelengths bounce off the space rocks&#8217; surfaces, only revealing information about their outer shapes.&nbsp;</p>



<p class="has-black-color has-text-color">The HAARP team has&nbsp;<a href="https://www.space.com/haarp-atmospheric-research-facility-bouncing-signals-jupiter-moon"><u>previously run experiments</u></a>&nbsp;targeting the moon and the solar system&#8217;s largest planet Jupiter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>HAARP&#8217;s current research program has been called &#8216;unprecedented.&#8217;</p>



<p>The High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program facility, or HAARP, is in the midst of a wide-ranging science campaign that will see the facility bounce signals off the moon and Jupiter.</p>



<p>HAARP consists of 180 antennas designed to transmit signals into the <a href="https://www.space.com/42546-ionospheric-connection-explorer.html"><u>ionosphere</u></a>, which stretches from 30 miles (48 kilometers) to 600 miles (965 km) above sea level and is seen as the area where Earth&#8217;s atmosphere meets space, <a href="https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/news/1127/10-things-to-know-about-the-ionosphere/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><u>according to NASA</u></a>(opens in new tab). The ionosphere plays an important role in radio transmission, as it reflects radio waves. Many satellites occupy this region of the atmosphere, which is heavily influenced by solar weather.</p>

<p>HAARP is in the midst of a 10-day research campaign that is the facility&#8217;s &#8220;largest and most diverse to date,&#8221; HAARP program manager Jessica Matthews <a href="https://www.gi.alaska.edu/news/haarp-begin-largest-set-experiments-its-new-observatory" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><u>said in a statement</u></a>(opens in new tab). Among the 13 experiments being conducted during the campaign are projects that will see signals bounced off the moon and Jupiter in order to test HAARP&#8217;s ability to study objects far from Earth.</p>



<p>One of the most ambitious experiments being carried out during HAARP&#8217;s current campaign is known as &#8220;Jupiter Bounce,&#8221; or &#8220;Interplanetary Ionosonde,&#8221;&nbsp;<a href="http://www.arrl.org/files/file/News/ARRL%20Letter/2022-10-20/HAARP%20Transmission%20Schedule%20October%202022.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><u>according to a statement from the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF)</u></a>(opens in new tab). The experiment will test HAARP&#8217;s ability to bounce signals off &nbsp;the ionosphere of Jupiter, while also determining how well receivers at the University of New Mexico&#8217;s Long Wavelength Array can receive the reflected signals. The experiment is &#8220;the largest active remote sensing operation in history,&#8221; according to the UAF statement.</p>



<p>&#8220;This is a first-of-its-kind experiment (which) at least to my knowledge has never been attempted before,&#8221; HAARP research support services lead Evans Callis <a href="https://alaskapublic.org/2022/10/20/haarp-campaigns-projects-range-from-jupiter-to-the-moon/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><u>told Alaska Public Media</u></a>(opens in new tab). &#8220;We transmit several different frequencies from HAARP directed at Jupiter. We listen for the echo that returns, and that should be able to tell us something about electromagnetic conditions around Jupiter.&#8221;</p>



<p>Another experiment, known as &#8220;Moon Bounce,&#8221; will see signals bounced off &nbsp;the moon back towards receivers in New Mexico and California. These signals will be evaluated for their use in determining the composition of near-Earth asteroids for future planetary defense purposes.</p>



<p>Meanwhile, HAARP&#8217;s &#8220;Making the Invisible Visible&#8221; experiment will &#8220;test if hot electrons are capable of producing the continuum (white) emissions present in STEVE airglow.&#8221; STEVE, short for&nbsp;<a href="https://www.space.com/steve-aurora-powered-by-electrons.html"><u>Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement</u></a>, is an aurora-like phenomenon that occurs when charged particles from the sun interact with Earth&#8217;s ionosphere.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&#8220;If we see that air glow and it matches the wavelength of light that we see from naturally occurring STEVE, that would give us indication that the hot electrons are playing some role in the formation of STEVE,&#8221; Callis said.</p>



<p>One of the more unique experiments, &#8220;Ghosts in the Airglow,&#8221; will mix art and atmospheric research to &#8220;play with the liminal boundaries of Earth&#8217;s atmosphere and outer space,&#8221; according to <a href="https://ghostsintheairglow.space/about-project" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">the project&#8217;s website</a>(opens in new tab). The experiment will use HAARP to bounce images, spoken word and sound art off  the ionosphere to learn more about radio propagation.</p>



<p>The HAARP facility was constructed in 1993 and originally operated by several United States military research agencies, including the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Air Force Research Laboratory and Office of Naval Research. In 2015, ownership of the facility was&nbsp;<a href="https://alaskapublic.org/2015/07/15/haarp-to-be-transferred-to-uaf/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><u>transferred to the UAF</u></a>(opens in new tab).</p>



<p>While primarily used for upper-atmospheric research, the facility has been the subject of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.adn.com/features/article/haarp-conspiracies-guide-most-far-out-theories-behind-government-research-alaska/2011/09/20/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><u>numerous conspiracy theories</u></a>(opens in new tab)&nbsp;in the nearly three decades since it was constructed. Some have accused the U.S. government of using the facility to modify the weather, trigger earthquakes, create &#8220;chemtrails&#8221; or even to&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/b044592a89b14171b50d2f5e9d4b4a6c" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><u>broadcast mind-control signals</u></a>(opens in new tab).&nbsp;</p>



<p>To date, there has been no evidence of the facility being used for mind control or anything other than atmospheric research. According to the &#8220;Frequently Asked Questions&#8221;&nbsp;<a href="https://haarp.gi.alaska.edu/faq" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><u>page on HAARP&#8217;s website</u></a>(opens in new tab), &#8220;Neuroscience is a complex field of study carried out by medical professionals, not scientists and researchers at HAARP.&#8221;</p>

<p>Antenna Products had the privilege of hosting 14 bright young Welding students from Mineral Wells High School today. On the agenda: a tour of the facility, Q&amp;As with the APC team, and seeing our workers and machinery first-hand in action. Its extremely important for students still developing skills in the field to get real hands on experience and APC is happy to provide the opportunity.</p>

<p>Just another day at the office for the APC Crew.  Installation of ILS Extension Systems over at the Texas Gulf Coast Regional Airport.  Scope of work:  Installing 3 ft. Leg extensions at the LBX and raised the existing LPD (Localizer Antennas 3 ft.)  LPD antennas were previously in an area that would flood easily.</p>

<p>APC has recently introduced and begun shipments to the FAA of its Remote Communications Air/Ground (RCAG) Towers.&nbsp;The RCAG Towers have been specifically designed for the FAA’s next generation requirements for RTR Towers.&nbsp;The RCAG Tower is distinguished from traditional RTR Towers by its much larger tower base with faces as wide as 24 feet compared to the typical RTR Tower face of 4-8 feet.&nbsp;Having a much larger base the RCAG Tower can support much larger platforms as well with current platforms as large as 24X24 feet and larger versions possible based on requirements.&nbsp;The most important feature of the RCAG Tower is the integration of staircases into the towers replacing the ladders and safety harness climbing systems found on traditional RTR Towers.&nbsp;Greatly increasing safety and ease of access the staircases are a complete game changer for the installation and maintenance of the equipment mounted on the platform of the RCAG Tower.</p>
