The DPV-39AL antenna consists of two vertically-polarized, omni-directional dipoles. The VHF dipole covers the frequency range of 100-156 MHz and the UHF dipole covers the frequency range 225-400 MHz. These dipoles are sealed in a single fiberglass radome that provides both mechanical and environmental protection. The antenna is designed for ground-to-air communications and use in an extreme environment. The antenna mounts atop a 2 1/2 inch IPS pipe enclosing the electrical connections away form the environment. The antenna is also provided with a lightning rod adapter consisting of a #6 AWG solid conductor running the entire length of the structure terminating at the top in a ten inch long lightning rod. Customer interface is a servit post which serves as a mounting bolt and attachment point for a ground wire.
