Antenna Products Corp. announced today that its Phazar line of commercial antennas developed for DAS and small cell applications has reached a new milestone of over 8,000 installations on sites in North America and internationally. Key improvements to the Phazar line were also announced, with the latest versions of these antennas now providing neutral hosts and carriers with more options for covering all of the current frequencies used for mobile communications and 4G performance.
Phazar DAS solutions are currently being utilized by every major wireless carrier in the industry, meeting or exceeding the coverage and capacity requirements for installations in demanding urban environments such as New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Charlotte, New Orleans and Chicago, as well as in theme parks such as Disneyland and Disneyworld.
Designed for mounting on street lights or utility poles, Phazar DAS antennas provide coverage for multiple frequencies in the 700 MHz, 850 MHz, AWS, PCS and 2.3 to 2.7 GHz bands, and also support LTE/MIMO technology. Antenna Products’ robust series of DAS and small cell solutions include a 2” diameter stacked version which comes in single, dual, triple and quad configurations, as well as an 8” diameter dual polarized quasi-omni version, both of which offer the most omnidirectional patterns on the market today.
The newest version of the Phazar quad antenna combines four antennas stacked within a single radome, providing the maximum amount of isolation between the 700 MHz and AWS bands while covering the 698 to 896 MHz and 1710 to 2155 MHz frequency ranges which all wireless carriers use for mobile communication services. “The ability to cover both carrier frequencies and Wi-Fi is a key feature for carriers that need to offload service to the Wi-Fi band or for use of more hotspots in urban environments as small cell options”, says Steve Schueler, VP of Business Development.
