Antenna Products Corporation Teams with Conductive Composites and North Fork Composites to Deliver Conductive Composite Antennas

Mineral Wells, Texas – September 23, 2014

Antenna Products Corp., a leading developer and manufacturer of high quality antenna systems for military, aviation, electronic toll, and communication applications is pleased to be working with Conductive Composites Company (Heber City, UT) and North Fork Composites (Woodland, WA) to develop and manufacture antennas constructed out of conductive composite materials.  Antenna Products has already delivered testing samples of conductive composite antennas to critical customers and expects to offer a full line of log periodic, whip, yagi and sector antennas constructed of conductive composites.

With its conductive composite antennas weighing 1/3 to 1/6 the weight of its aluminum antennas, Antenna Products sees strong demands from sectors in which robustness and weight are important factors such as man-pack antennas, vehicular antennas, naval antennas and portable antennas.  In addition to reduced weight, conductive composite antennas offer superior corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, and simplified assembly.

Leveraging off of Conductive Composites government funded conductive composite development work, North Fork Composites’ manufacturing expertise, and Antenna Products’ extensive antenna design and testing capabilities, these new conductive composite antennas enjoy all of the benefits of composite materials while maintain virtually identical gain, VSWR and power handling capabilities of Antenna Products’ existing metal based antennas.

“These composite antennas are a great application where our next-generation multifunctional materials technologies can bridge the performance gap between newer composite systems and legacy metal fabrication” said Nathan Hansen, President of Conductive Composites. “We are excited to be working with APC as a long-established leader in the antenna market, and are looking forward to enabling an entire new product offering in lightweight composite antenna systems.”
